5 Top Moments of Fashion in FALL’09

Friday, October 30th, 2009

Fall is nearly over and we’re all getting ready for a crazy Halloween-Party weekend.

Time for us to pause for a second and look back on the great moments we had in the past season.

1) New York Fashion Week Spring/Summer 2010

Of course on of our highlights. We’re looking forward to wear the etherael peach and powder colors next season that we saw at Charlotte Ronson and Carlos Miele.

2) Speaking of “Fashion Week”: Paris PrĂŞt Ă  Porter Printemps-EtĂ© 2010

VH1’s Libby Keatinge, who hosted our Made in New York event, went to Paris and gave us a front-row view on next seasons fashion. She herself looked radiant in the Venexiana outfit that was styled by New York Girl Style.

3) Gomez - Gracia at the Coterie

Definitely keep an eye on Patricia Gomez-Gracia. We were totally blown away by her beautiful dresses. The London designer presented us her new collection and we must say besides her creativity, she has the perfect appearance to model and promote her own collection.

4) Made in New York Retail Event at Manhattans G-Star Stores

Rainy clouds over Manhattan didn’t hold the fashion community from heading out to get some new “raw” denims. New York Girl Style launched the Made in New York retail event at Manhattan G-Star stores. We went to Soho and enjoyed the new collection with friends. The staff at the store was really lovely. Turned out to be a great Saturday and we are very much looking forward to the next event!

5) Made in New York with Venexiana

Katie Stern’s Venexiana Collection was the spotlight at the Gansevoort penthouse for the New York Girl Style press reception event of Made in New  York. The model’s beautiful evening gowns sparkedled amongst the Manhattan skyline. New York Cities fashion elite, industry insiders and trend setters were there to celebrate the Made in New York campaign that was created to support fashion and retail in New York.

Makeup Trend–Summer 2007

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Summer 2007 trend makeup can be summed up by two words: translucent color. Eyeshadow is strong and highly pigmented but translucent; reminiscent of a stained glass window. Violet, green, and most notably orange are the colors of the season for the eyes. Lips are very glossy with a sheer tint of color. Pink and all shades of peach and corals keep this summer makeup from looking dull. Skin is slightly dewy and natural, with a bronzed (faux!) glow.
The overall appearance of summer 2007 makeup is a pop of bright color on the eyes with shiny, tinted lips to compliment a casually glowing skin. Very fresh!

Brighten up!

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Only one minute? Try a brighter blush! A peachy or pinky blush will brighten your entire face, emphasize your eyes and draw attention away from dark circles. Sounds more like a one minute miracle! Try Nars Blush in Organsm or Mac Powder Blush in Dollymix.

No Excuses! Summer Makeup

With the summer heat and fun ahead, you’re tempted to leave the house without any makeup….don’t! With all the fast and easy options, there are no more excuses for not looking your best! Here’s a quick look that is both polished and quick. Swipe on a light, neutral shade of eyeshadow over your entire lid, from lashline to your eyebrow. (Try Cassia by Stila) Line into your lashline with a waterproof pencil. Colored liner is more forgiving in a hurry, use Make Up For Ever in Bronze Green. It is flattering for all eye colors! Coat on that mascara now…use your favorite! Now a light dusting of powder foundation. (Hands down try Studio Fix by Mac Cosmetics.) With a large brush, highlight your cheeks with bronzer. A nice inexpensive one is by Rimmel. Finish it all with a shiny, peachy lip. Lancome Juicy Gelee Orange Burst looks bright but goes on your lips perfectly.
So there you have it! In just a few minutes, you can look put together and chic in the summer.
