Makeup Trend–Summer 2007

Tuesday, June 12th, 2007

Summer 2007 trend makeup can be summed up by two words: translucent color. Eyeshadow is strong and highly pigmented but translucent; reminiscent of a stained glass window. Violet, green, and most notably orange are the colors of the season for the eyes. Lips are very glossy with a sheer tint of color. Pink and all shades of peach and corals keep this summer makeup from looking dull. Skin is slightly dewy and natural, with a bronzed (faux!) glow.
The overall appearance of summer 2007 makeup is a pop of bright color on the eyes with shiny, tinted lips to compliment a casually glowing skin. Very fresh!

Brighten up!

Only one minute? Try a brighter blush! A peachy or pinky blush will brighten your entire face, emphasize your eyes and draw attention away from dark circles. Sounds more like a one minute miracle! Try Nars Blush in Organsm or Mac Powder Blush in Dollymix.

With the summer heat and fun ahead, you’re tempted to leave the house without any makeup….don’t! With all the fast and easy options, there are no more excuses for not looking your best! Here’s a quick look that is both polished and quick. Swipe on a light, neutral shade of eyeshadow over your entire lid, from lashline to your eyebrow. (Try Cassia by Stila) Line into your lashline with a waterproof pencil. Colored liner is more forgiving in a hurry, use Make Up For Ever in Bronze Green. It is flattering for all eye colors! Coat on that mascara now…use your favorite! Now a light dusting of powder foundation. (Hands down try Studio Fix by Mac Cosmetics.) With a large brush, highlight your cheeks with bronzer. A nice inexpensive one is by Rimmel. Finish it all with a shiny, peachy lip. Lancome Juicy Gelee Orange Burst looks bright but goes on your lips perfectly.
So there you have it! In just a few minutes, you can look put together and chic in the summer.
